I am leaving for Barcelona tomorrow. B is going with me. Yeah!! B will be coming back earlier though.. Wanted him to go Sao Paolo as well but he did not want to take the risk.. B said we will go Rio next time. I have not even leave for the trip, I cannot wait to come back. Cos we are going Bangkok, for our anniversary. After we come back from Bangkok, it will be Lunar New Year - welcome the year of Dragon. I am quite lucky, only leaving for work on the second day. Thank you.- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

2012, a better year for everyone.

I was on the bus in London when I started writing. The new year had not arrived at home then.

It's the last day of 2011. In another few hours, 2012 will be here.
I think it is a good time to do self-reflection and soul-searching.
Keep in mind what had gone wrong and what had been done right, the new year resolution can be made in a more realistic approach.

Everyday, I thank the ONE(whoever you are) for giving me my loved ones, family and friends.

Looking back, it was an eventful 2011.
Beginning of 2011, I had the most wonderful wedding anyone could have, at least to me. I had been waiting for this day and it was a dream come true.
My family members:
My dad is a wonderful man, conservative and old fashioned. Yet he cared for us, especially my mum, in his own way.
My mum is the same, though b said she is better, after I got married. I still hope she could play less mahjiong and spent more time with my dad.
My brother is getting more grown-up. Although he still has his temper, I know that he is trying.
My hubby is also the greatest.
I spent a very pleasant day with my ladies on my birthday. They are wonderful people and I am thankful to have them.

There are many new additions into our circles- babies everywhere, twins even.
Then b had the chance to work on Jarrell and had done remarkably well. Looking forward to continue working with this bright and nice boy..
Then my family went for a Europe trip in September. We went Paris, Switzerland and Italy.
B managed to make some time and join us for the first half of the trip. Though there were some hiccups, it was an enjoyable trip.

One wrongdoing I did was to upset b on his birthday. I felt terrible and guilty after that. I really have to work on my temper.
Coming up next is my promotion - after almost eight years, I have to go for interview and I am not sure if I am up to it.
I want to start a family as well. Hopefully soon. However with this interview coming, I am a little confused. After discussing with b, I should go for the interview. At least try for it and hope for the best.
I know myself - my biggest shortcoming is laziness. I can do nothing forever. That is no good. I am going to set this as my resolution for the year 2012 - to be less lazy, more motivated and be a better person.

It was so last minute that I managed to get extra time off from work, and I am going Hong Kong with the girls!!!! I am feeling so excited just thinking about it.. Though no more shopping for me this trip, since I have already done two trips this year. Just go and enjoy the company and eat my a** off...

My poor b has to be deserted by me for three days, given the fact that he just came back from Taipei last night. He has been traveling very often as well..
And I do miss him much..

The next trip to look forward to will be my family trip to Europe. I really hope b can make time for the trip since we will be going to Italy and he has not been there.

Well, i guess i can feel a little happy as I managed to complete a few errands.

Firstly, I slept at almost 2am and I was awake since 8am. Again did not sleep well..

Went back to settle the shares. Luckily i made it.
Drive back to town to meet up with xh and Celin and made a new friend too. Had a nice catch up time with the ladies. Lots of gossips and bitching.. Haha..

Went back to see Doc Yeo to ask her regarding yellow fever vaccine. And she gave me her husband's card, a gynae at Thomson.

Dropped by at the temple at Clementi to pay for the prayer services.

Rush to fix B's watches. Now I know, the watches are not expensive, but it costs a bomb to change the battery as there are three in each watch. Haha..

Now I am back. I should sleep early tonight.

Got back from Hong Kong this morning. The trip was not enjoyable as I had problem sleeping in Hong Kong, and this time it was not due to the tv.

Am reading my two cousins' blogs and really happy they have become wonderful mums - something which I am getting nervous about.

Life is so amazing.. Turning people into better persons..

I hope when my turn comes, I'll be a better person too..

Today is my dad's birthday.
I searched for a nice place to bring the family out for dinner.. Finally settled for buffet dinner at Sheraton Towers.

Then my cousin messaged my bro, 'what cake to buy?'

Hah.. My grandmother actually told all my aunts (who are my dad's sisters). End up there is 16 of us. How to go for buffet?!?!?

Haiz.. Disappointed.. Got to change venue..

End up we going to Red Star restaurant. Hopefully it is still good.

To reflect back, I was really happy, I waited for this perfect day to come and it was a dream come true.

We are really thankful for all the help we had.

The white gown turned out to be nicer than I expected, lucky me.

The only thing which I wish I did more, was to take more photos with everyone....

I woke up at 6am. After showering, my parents also woke up.

My dad went to buy breakfast.

I waited for the rest to arrive, and my breakfast. :P

Jacqueline arrived first. Next is the photographer. Lilian came next.

We started setting the hair. Janice came after washing her car. haha...

As it was Tuesday, everyone was running a little late because of the traffic.

Celin was next. Joan came and started my make-up.

Then Carmen, Jinu, Erica, Clarice, XH and Yan also arrived.

I am really very lucky to have everyone helping me.

By the time I was done, it was almost time.

I took pictures with my sisters and Lilian and Joan left.

Then I went into my parents' room and they put the veil for me.

I was getting nervous. Jinu and XH was in the room with me. I think they were trying to keep me occupied.

The guys were late. Luckily the timing to leave was not given, so we set our own.

I told them to carry on, as there was no timing to follow... haha...

The feeling was indescribable.

When they finally arrived, it was funny.

My sisters were very nice to B and his brothers.

One thing which we did not do enough, was to take more photos.

After gate crashing, we prayed and left for the Hotel.

When we reached the Hotel lobby, we managed to take a few more photos.

After tea ceremony, I changed into the cheongsum.

And we headed back to my place.

Many relatives came.

We still managed to finish on time.

B drove, and we sent XL back to Chinatown.

We returned to the Hotel and rested for half an hour. My poor B was barely awake.

We went to Noble House. The sound guys and projector guys were already setting things up at 5pm. Then I started on my make-up and hair again.

B and XL were running crazy outside.

Many relatives and friends were early.

Good time flies super fast. It was time to get ready.

The reason that I was not receiving guests because it will be a surprise for guests when I do my march-in. Of course, this way I did not get to take many photos with my guests.

During the first march-in, I was concentrating on not falling onto my face. The feeling was irreplaceable. It was magical. B carefully holding on to me as well. I did not realize it was B's song playing.

As we were running late again, I rushed in to change.

Joan did something special for me, and it was beautiful.

At the second march-in, the music was louder. haha...

Again, it was magical.

After toasting, we said our thank-you speech. And he sang abit. haha...

Then we continued with the photo taking session. It was a rush, luckily we had kuku klanz to help us. Experienced. haha...

Soon, it was all over.

When we got back to Chinatown, and ate with XL and Yan, I forced them to listen to me because I forgot to mention it earlier..

Thank you B for loving me (and my rubbish inclusive).

Today is the eve, and tomorrow is the day.

In the morning, I went to Raffles Place for my manicure and pedicure session.

Apparently my appointment was booked with the other outlet, they were very nice to go ahead with my appointment. I did French manicure with a thin line of glitter, and for my feet, I went for natural color as I do not want the color to show when I work.

Then we went to check in at our hotel, bringing things there.

And the car was sent to the Hotel as well.

I had to meet my sisters and B had to send me there as I can't get a cab.

B is so sweet.

After meeting the sisters, I went back home.

However, B's side is still not done.

His grandma and uncle came from JB, and they only know the way to MBS, so B or XL had to go pick them to Chinatown. Then check them into their hotel, and they were not very happy.

We do not have a proper place for them to stay, that's why we booked a hotel for them.

B's other grandma said wanna visit him at the hotel, so he had to be at the hotel.

Then need to send the car to the florist. After tying the flowers, the car boot cannot be closed. B thought it was the florist's fault, so sent the car back to the florist. The problem could not be solved. It was the locking device of the car. Luckily the car could still be locked, with the boot unlocked.

After rushing everywhere, B did not sleep much.

Sometimes it's not that we do not care about their feelings, but did they think about the bigger picture? We already have so many things to worry about, if doing something is good for everyone, and you just need to spend a little money, why not?

Maybe it is my dad's style, and I am also like that.

And Joan came down to have a look at my gowns, and did a trial make-up for me.

She is really very very good.

I think B wants to organize make-up lessons for Joan to teach. I can't wait...

I totally forgot about the ang pow box till today.

So I asked Janice for help, she agreed to help me make one and also pass her unused guest book to me. Phew.. Another thing settled.

I went to order the flowers, and the lady was commenting," You are getting married on Tuesday and you only order your flowers now?" .

I was quite embarrassed. But still have to order right?

We managed to get printers and laptops and was testing out the printing.

We wanted to do live projection and instant photocard printing.

We also managed to get extra help from Ray's friends, they will be doing the printing on Tuesday.

Getting excited.. But do not want it to be over... haha...

I am finally back, and needed to finish off as many things as possible.

While I was away, B did most of the stuff. I am really grateful.

He settled the rental of the car, thanks to Mike's help.

B sent out a few more invitation cards as some of our friends had not received the invitation. It was really embarassing...

We went to check out the flowers earlier, but did not place order then.

When we wanted to go place order, the florist was not open yet. So we skipped to the next task on the to-do list.

I visited Lilian and she trimmed moi hair, I also showed her some pictures.

Then we rushed to Bedok for IPL session.

After that, we went for Riley's first birthday party at Changni.

B had to go for his Bachelor night again, haha... this time is with his brother and friends.

And so I went home to rest.

The feeling of rushing was fun and kan cheong at the same time.

I have had long hair since dunno when, although I hate my hair, I just could not bear to cut it too much.

Joan said I should do something which makes me younger.

It's our first anniversary, and I'm stuck in Houston.

Did not want to take the job initially, but the deal with the other girl fell apart.

So here I am, 9 days before the Big Day and I am so far away.

Till now, things are more or less settled, i think.

I think I am starting to feel a little stress...

So little time when I get back.. Seating arrangement is not done yet.

Everyone told me that that is the toughest job.

The car is settled. Need to get the flowers.

Luckily B's brother booked a very nice hotel for us.

I am worried about so many things, the gate crash, the xiongdi, the make-up and hair, the dinner attendance...

I want to go home as soon as possible..

Feel so helpless here..

Can't wait to go home.

We are thankful for all the help offered by our friends and family.

We are really blessed. It makes us feel more at ease.

My goodness...
Last night was a blast!

First, our dinner was to be held at District 10 at 8.30pm.
Janice called me and told me she was on her way, so I hurried and left home at about 8pm.
On the way, Erica told me to only reach at 8.30 sharp, she told me no one was there yet. But I was already on my way.
I reached and they sent Jinu out to accompany me. Haha.. I was really getting very nervous. Even Jinu could tell. Haha..

I went into the restaurant and saw all my bestest of the best girlfriends.
By the way, erica told me the theme was gold. End up, I am the only one in gold. Haha..
And they started taking stuff out and dressing me up.

Tonight will be the night!

I had changed to come back one day earlier, so that I can attend my own "HENs" night.

To be honest, I am really nervous. After seeing Erica's hens' night, I do not look forward for mine to come. However, I know that they had all put in a lot of effort for it.

So...

I just had to do it.

Till now, I have no idea what they had planned.

I only knew that we are going this place "District 10" for dinner.

Even thinking of it now makes my hands and feet go cold. Haha...

At the same time, I feel so blessed. To have so many girlfriends who love me so much!!!

I just came back from a long trip this morning, and I had to leave for london tomorrow early morning. Dread to go...

Had seen many photos posted by others - shopping in bkk. Makes me want to go too..

Think can plan a short trip if there is time..

Need to settle my tea dress, should I wear the cheongsum? I dun really like it very much.. Maybe I'm just being difficult and picky... :(

Had an argument with B this morning...

Almost spoiled his and my day.. Luckily we had it sorted out very quickly..

It was B's birthday, and I booked a night's stay at MBS.

We were upgraded and given a suite. It was very big and nice.

Mum and Dad came over to have dinner with us. We walked over to Jack's place at Marina Square. After dinner, we hurried back to the room because my mum wants to watch the Man U match. In the end, the football channel in the room was the wrong one. ~duh~

So we went up to the Skypark. It was very nice.

XL was very sweet to prepare a plate of cold cuts (lots of ham) and strawberries for us.

The next morning, we went for a dip. The water was too cold to swim in. B and I did not swim, but he did went into the pool and to the edge. They should heat up the pool.

Last night, we had our food tasting at the restaurant.

It was all right.

Tomorrow we will be meeting the supplier for the invitations.

Many things to do.

I do not want to go back to work.

It was Kenneth and Santrina's big day last friday.

I was one of the 'jiemeis' and so b was one of the 'xiongdis' as well.

There were many of us actually, think about 9 girls and 13 guys.

During the gate crashing, we had a hard time trying to get everyone involved.

And so, some of the games had to be cancelled due to time constraint.

Sometimes, I wonder what is the meaning of this process.

Everyone gets hot and sweaty due to all the games and shouting and pulling and tugging and many... Yes, we jiemeis do get angbao from the groom. However, that should not be the main purpose right? Or should it?

To be honest, I dragged for mine which is on the way.

Shouldn't it be meaningful for the wedding couple? Or should it be fun for the jiemeis and torture for the xiongdis?

I had a great dinner with b, mum, dad, and ah ma, and Vic.

Woke up real early to visit Jinu and baby zyan.
Then came back to rest before dinner.
After dinner, drinks and meet-up session with the gang.

What an enjoyable day!!

Still searching for photographer and videographer.. in a fix..

I am back from Paris, had a wonderful trip..
Working with wonderful people, thank you H, K, V, K, Rena, Lynette, Cynthia, Kyenne, Raine.

T went with me. We rented a car. He lost his way when going to the hotel.
We went out in the evening and went to check out the shops.
Then went to Eiffel Tower.

The second day, I woke up at 5.30 am to prepare, but only managed to leave the hotel at 9am.
We reached Eiffel Tower and the sun was hot. Then we went shopping. Yes, I went in my gown. :) Next, we went to Notre-Dame. A bride came to ask to have a photo with me. When we were taking our photos, there were many others who were snapping away as well. I felt like a celebrity. haha..

We went to the Louvre later in the evening. It was beautiful! Though there were many others still around, we managed to find a nice spot to take photos. We tried smething different and were pleased with the results.

It was an enjoyable and tiring trip.

Yeah!! London and Paris covered.

Yesterday I was called up to work, and with Celin.
After work, we met up with the rest for dinner.

I finally told XH and Hada about my wedding.
Hada was really shocked. She thought I was pulling her leg.
XH was not angry with me, but she was not surprised too.
She told me she heard rumors about it before, but we did not have any chance to have a good talk.. She did hinted the last time we met...

So finally, I did it.
I am thankful for their understanding...

I am a lucky girl! :)

Erica and Jinu brought me to Vaughn's place to check out the gowns...
There are many fashionable and vogue kind-of gowns..
I tried on a yellow toga gown which is similar to the design I like, it was "safe".
I quite like the short pong-pong one too... Really feel like cupcake.. Sweet!
This was the first place I went to check out.. Need to check out more.. To know what I like or dislike..
Maybe I can get something more loud, red maybe, which shouts "ME"...
eh, sounds familiar..

But it is quite expensive there.. KIV first..

I just got back from work.
Ten days I was away...
Once I got back, I received two good news - both my cousin and a gf will be getting married very soon...
It might be a little shocking, however i believe a new life is worth to be celebrated. :)

The lady just came to let me try my gown.. It was ok.
But I totally hate my second qipao.. And it was not fitting at all.. And she said my hips are unbalanced. Like Wth!!! It was not my choice...
In the end, I told her I'll take the first gown, but not the qipao.
Angry with the lady, I wanted to get out to get another gown off the rack. It was raining very heavily..
I have no idea what to do with my hair..
I can feel the stress in my dream.

I have not prepare the red packets... And they are many people to help me.
The car was just being done.

I have not seen his suit yet. In fact, I do not even know if he have a suit for the wedding...

I really had a very meaningful birthday this year.

I managed to pluck up my courage to tell my friends that I got married. They were not mad at me at all, and were very understanding. I feel very blessed to have them in my life..

And this evening, I get to witness something very meaningful - family bond.
My friend got "reunited" with her son, after seven long years...
Last night, she was worried and excited.. anything could be possible..
Her son turned out to be a brilliant kid. In fact, her son is very sensible and mature.
We are all happy for her.. It is not an easy thing to do for them or anyone.. But they did it.
And now, I think everyone's happy.

We arranged to meet at Boon Lay MRT station control. It was crowded...
I was nervous and excited, at the same time..
I wore a dress.. And I had used my piyo piyo small blue bag.
He held my bag for me..
When we walked to the train, he met his classmate.
As it was a first/last stop, when we got onto the train, it was pretty empty. He pulled me to take a seat. Then he talked to his classmate for awhile..
The event was held at CelebrityAsia back then. We went in and were looking for seats when we saw Dasmond Koh walking pass... He said hi to him... I was really impressed. Haha...
I can't really remember much about the event actually.

After the event, he sent me home.
I remembered that my bag has his perfume because he held my bag. Haha..

I still remembered that it was a saturday. He came to practice. After practice, he sent me home. We went to Macdonalds near my place to chat... Then it rained. The sound of the falling rain was too loud for spoken words, therefor we started writing... He asked me out the following day... He wanted to bring me to a radio event-birthday celebration for the radio station, to be exact.

That was when I was 14, in 1998...

We went Marriott to have buffet dinner, and it was all right. Went with mum, dad, bro and meizhi. A family event, I like... :)
After that we went to Keppel Bay to chill. That place is lovely.. But it's getting crowded..
Seems like we need to find a new chillout place soon..
Time flies. I need to start to work on the preparations soon.. Many big decisions to make..
Asked Bro how he would like to celebrate his 21st birthday this year end. Haha..

I am on leave from 2-11jan.
It is 7jan already...

My day just did not start out with a nice tone.
I came back from work and had to rush to embassy to do my visa. I fixed the appointment at 9.45am and I was there at 9.30am. As I went in, the security guard told me to switch off my phone. Then after the security screening, they kept my phone. When I went into the building, it was filled with people. I took a number and waited for my number to be called. I submitted my documents and the lady at the counter handed me a piece of paper and asked me to," Read the instructions." So I asked," And what's next?" She retorted back," Read the instructions!" Fine. And so I read and followed the instructions. Do you know that the queue handling the payment was so long that it was all over the place? Some people had got a seat while they queue. And they moved from seat to seat. And only 1 counter to handle so many. After payment, we had to wait again. This time, it was for the officer to "interview" applicants. People had all sorts of reasons - to study, for business, husband is there, etc. I heard one, "I wanna go there to learn their culture. Blah blah.. I wanna make new friends. Blah blah..." I was laughing in my heart.
My reason - simple: my job requires me to go there. haha.. I fought hard to hold back my tongue... Why do they have to make us go through all this trouble? Waste our time. Furthermore, everytime we are there, it is only for 3-4 days.
When my gf went to do her visa some time ago, the fire alarm went off. All the staff behind the counters evacuated. So my gf asked the security guard if the people who were waiting need to evacuate as well. He said no. After awhile, the staff came back. An announcement was made that the fire had been put out. So there was an actual fire. However, only the staff evacuated. Others need not. It did not make sense. Even if it was a drill, the more they should evacuate everyone. What's the morale of this? Their people are worth saving but not others. Sick!
I left the place at 11.45am.
I took a bus back. When we reached Orchard, the bus driver actually came to help a family with a wheelchair to get off the bus. I am proud of the bus driver. :) This incident brighten up my day alittle.
Then I called my client to cancel her appointment. I can only make it at a later time, if not then we will have to do it tomorrow. She slammed the phone at me. B**ch!
It is only 1.15pm and so much had happened. I better go shower and get some sleep. PMSing...

I jumped out of bed at 7am. Had a quick shower. Fion reached at about 7.15am. Did my make up. Then Mummy and Daddy came. Daddy brought Grandma for breakfast. After doing my hair, Fion make up for Mummy. Gugu came. I rushed to inform her. Then Fion left. I woke him up to prepare. Robin did not make it. We did not have photographer.

Everyone came. Everyone was happy for us. Waited for the Mr Chan. He called at about 9.45am to inform he will be on his way. Said he might be a little late. Reached at about 10.15am. We started immediately. He did it in Mandarin. I was happy. I did not tear then. I thought I would. We took photos with everyone with our digital cameras. Had a video camera as well.

Long, Uncle and Po Po, Gugu, Ah Yee and Dang left first. We packed up. We went to Plaza Singapura Lao Beijing restaurant for lunch. Ordered 2 set menu for 6. The food was so-so. Uncle said not nice. Long sent Dang to airport. Brought Po Po to Chinatown and Bugis. We left Bugis at 5pm.

I am very thankful to have everyone around me. I am touched. Thank you very much.

It was a busy day. I came back from Chennai. Took train back. Napped for about half an hour. Went to temple for prayers and lunch. Then rushed home to get stuff. Checked in at The Scarlet. Moved the furniture for shoot. Long drove Betty to Tampines to do hair. I went to do medicure and pedicure. Then Fion came. I had my make-up done first. And did my hair. It was curled. They came back. Joseph came. Then Kelvin came to offer help too. He bought food, combs, safety pins, belt. Thanks for your help bro. Fion make up for Betty. Then the two guys. Fion left. Mel came. Waited for Robin. Set up the lights. It was about 12am when the shoot start. I went to sleep on the bench outside. They finished at about 4am. Long and Betty left at 4.30am.
