i miss those days..

I was going thru my photos... I had many ugly ones.. It's either my eyes, or my mouth, or my frown...
but i quite like these two.. Taken a long long time ago... sigh..

anyone miss me?

I have not update my blog for a long time.. not because I am that busy, but sometimes, I just don't see the point - no one knows about it anyway. haha.. it's silly, come to think of it..

I am doing well, working very hard. In fact, I am spending most of the time overseas, rather than being home.
I am not complaining. I love my life.

Last two weekends, I was a jie mei for cheryl and mike's wedding. It was very nice and sweet. It feels good to see your good friends get married. You feel happy for them. Maybe I will post some pics up when I get home.

Ladies, you should go for this!

I had my first jab of Cervarix - a pure cervical cancer vaccine (injection) designed to protect females against the diseases caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18, which is account for about 70% of cervical cancer.

Throughout her life, every woman is at risk from the virus that causes cervical cancer. There are more than 100 different types of HPV viruses but only a few of them actually causes cancer. Majority of the HPV infections will be cleared naturally by the body without any need for treatment over the course of a few months.

Persistent infection with HPV is what causes changes to the cells in your cervix that could develop into cervical cancer.

The virus is transmitted through genital skin to skin contact so it can affect any woman, regardless of her age or lifestyle. Sexual intercourse is not necessary to be infected. Even when some women had only one or two sexual partners in their lifetime, they may be at risk an HPV infection throughout their life.

Cancer-causing HPV infection is not commonly associated with any signs or symptoms, this means that the virus can be spread without women knowing it.

Therefore, pap smear and vaccination can significantly reduce the risk.

In Singapore, the vaccine, no matter which brand, is being recommended for women aged 10-25. You may have notice that this rule does not apply in other countries like UK. I have asked this question to my doctor, she told me that the reason is that studies were being conducted on women within this age group - 10 to 25, when this age group is the most possible group of people who are not sexually active and not exposed to HPV at all. The risk of HPV begins in young girls who are starting their puberty, and continue throughout their life. The ideal time to vaccine against HPV is prior to exposure to HPV infection, therefore it means before the first sexual intercourse.

And of course, for commercial purposes, the company can only recommend the drug to the age group that was tested on.

According to my doctor, when the vaccine is first introduced, a blood test was needed to check the woman has HPV. After the blood test, the woman can then go for the vaccine. Then the authorities realised that it was a waste of time and money. Therefore they took away the blood test.

Studies have shown that some women who had previously been exposed to HPV type 16 and 18 and had cleared the infection, were subsequently being protected. Even if you are over the age of 25, you can still go for the vaccine.

Go for it now! 3 Jabs - 1st jab anytime, 2nd jab one month after the 1st, 3rd jab six months after the 1st. It's easy. Each jab costs about 190 bucks.

love me..

"I do not want to marry someone I can live with, I want to marry someone I cannot live without."

I had heard this before, and I had just seen this again. How many of us can actually find this "someone"?

How about being loved by one and loving one, which one to choose?
Maybe I should learn how to do a flash... and use photoshop.. and web design.. and everything.. i should go back to school, re-learn all those applications.. make myself useful.

always trust until proven otherwise.

can i?

Dilemma

Should I or should I not?

I asked myself, why did I want to keep it in the first place?

I thought I could handle them. I did.

Until now.

How...

I am feeling the strain.. There is so much to say yet I just can't get them out of my mouth. I had keep it long enough... So how do I start?
i just want you to know that I am doing good, very well.

Thank you for being there and being my friend.

Want to start something on personal improvement. Should I do it in blogspot or xanga?

Makes sense..

HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste
them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart
will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life
of
your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer?
Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and
corn.
And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an
efficient
mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain?
Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy
vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily
allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that
means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of
the
goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise
program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ... Foods are fried these days in vegetable
oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad
for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should
only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO . Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best
feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about
food and diets.

Milan trip

Finally, a new destination. It was a good trip. Glad I made it!

09 March 2008

It's a good feeling...

I'm in paris now, chewing on my madeleines, cartoon network showing scooby-doo in the background, typing on the keyboard of my laptop. It's my first time I brought my laptop overseas and I am enjoying this feeling. It is only 7.40am here. The weather is still cold. I wanted to post up my photos from milan and vernice and I realised they're not saved in this laptop. So sad... I'll post them up when I go back..

17 February 2008

What a start..

The 1st day of the rat year was not smooth sailing for me, even when it's my year. I had to work and something nasty happened. It made me very upset and dishearted. Anyway, it is over now. Hopefully only good things follow from now on.

Many things happened within such short period of time, just from three days before the new year till now. It just shows that life is so unpredictable. We should be thankful to have our love ones and friends around us. We should treasure one another and not take each other for granted. Do not be afraid to show your affection to your love ones as you never know when it will be too late. These are very important values we should have in us.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Gong Xi Fa Cai to you! I will be going to auckland early morning tomorrow. Still, I can have reunion dinner tonight. Not too bad.

I finally can get some sleep this morning. Slept from 6am till about 9.30am, woke up to fry the noodles, pray. Then I went back to sleep. Only woke up at 3pm. Going to pack my bag for work.

It's a great start girl!

I just received news that Janice made it into SQ. Her dream had come true!! I am so happy for her. Although it was not a smooth path, I think that all the raw and rough patches had made her stronger and tougher. And her new life in SQ will be wonderful. :) Jia you girl!! I am sure things will work out well from here.

Having a few days leave, taking a break from work. Dun think I'll be going anyway. Gotta save up. For my trip in May. Have not met up with my gals for quite awhile. Finally can catch up with them. :)

01 January 2008

Happy 2008!

Happy New Year! 2008 is here! Goodbye 2007.

It's a brand new year.
Had a good time last night. Small gathering at home, with some finger food - mainly otah and chicken wings and fried rice, some wine and champagne, I spent my last day of 2007 with some friends. Guys were playing mahjiong and the ladies were watching tv. Though it was not a big affair, I think everyone did enjoy themselves, except Cheryl who was not feeling very well. Hope you get well soon. Rest well today.

I gotta work later tonight. Not too bad, at least I get to celebrate christmas and new year with my friends at home, not alone outside. :)

Janice told me she's coming back on 2nd, for interview on 3rd. Wish you Good Luck!
